Quiet Classics
Aoife Joyce is a conceptual project, based on the life of an Irish composer and artist working in the field of installation art and neo classical music. Raised in Donegal, much of her work explores landscape and heritage, a sonic visualisation of her family's past on the Aran Islands. The Shortest Path Home, her first full length album, is a tribute to the past, particularly an exploration of her ancestors who spent most of their lives living and working on the Aran Islands.

Komo Rebi was once a tree with beams of light filtering through the leaves of her widespread branches. She was moulded into a Carl Ecke upright piano in Dresden Germany in 1914 and now sits in my small home studio in Cape Town, South Africa where she has been loved and cherished for the past 31 years. She is a piece of history with many stories to tell and now she has the opportunity to share some of these with the world.
‘Once, Always’ is the debut solo piano release by composer Mikhaela Faye Kruger, released in the name of her cherished vintage Carl Ecke upright, which she has dubbed Komo Rebi. Together Mikhaela & Komo Rebi now begin to share their dreamy musings with the world, songs that are a blend of hopeful, nostalgic and melancholic musical thoughts.
